From Albania to Dubrovnik by minibus with driver
It takes about 6 hours and 15 minutes from Tirana Airport to Dubrovnik, not counting the wait at the two borders. The route passes through Shkodra and the Muriqan–Sukobin border crossing, continues along the Montenegrin coast and the Bay of Kotor, and enters Croatia at the Debeli Brijeg–Karasovići crossing. You’ll find the fixed transfer price on the Airport – Dubrovnik transfer page.
The main cities of Croatia and the region
Dubrovnik lies at the southern tip of Croatia, near the borders with Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Times are approximate, from Dubrovnik:
- Cavtat, about 25 minutes: the small seaside town near the airport.
- Ston, about 1 hour: the long walls and the old salt pans, at the entrance to the Pelješac peninsula.
- Split, about 3 hours: Croatia’s second city and Diocletian’s Palace, via the Pelješac Bridge.
- Zagreb, about 6 hours: the capital of Croatia, in the north of the country.
- Mostar, about 2.5 hours: the Old Bridge, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Kotor and Budva, about 2 hours and 2.5 hours: the towns of the Montenegrin coast.
The nearest airports
Dubrovnik Airport is about 20 kilometers south of the city, near Cavtat, about 25 minutes away. If your return flight leaves from there, we’ll take you straight to the airport: see the Tirana Airport – Dubrovnik Airport transfer.
Tivat Airport, in Montenegro, is about 1 hour and 45 minutes away, and Split Airport about 3 hours. Many groups fly into Tirana Airport and fly home from Dubrovnik, or the other way around: this way you travel the coast in one direction only.
What to see in Dubrovnik
- The old town: the Stradun, the main street paved with polished stone, from the Pile Gate to the old harbor, on the UNESCO list.
- The city walls: a walk of about 2 kilometers along the walls, with views over the rooftops and the sea.

Frequently asked questions
What documents do we need to travel to Croatia?
Croatia is part of the European Union and the Schengen Area. Albanian citizens need a valid biometric passport, while EU citizens can also travel with an ID card. Check the rules for each passenger’s nationality before you travel.
Which border crossings do we use?
We enter Montenegro at Muriqan–Sukobin and Croatia at Debeli Brijeg–Karasovići. The second is a Schengen border, so checks can take longer, especially in summer.
Can we visit Dubrovnik as a day trip from Tirana?
We don’t recommend it: the drive takes about 6 hours and 15 minutes each way. Plan at least two nights, or combine it with Kotor and Budva on a multi-day trip with the same minibus.
How many passengers does the minibus take?
Our minibuses have up to 19 passenger seats. For larger groups, we arrange several minibuses that travel together.
