From Albania to Prizren by minibus with driver
It takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Tirana Airport to Prizren, not counting the wait at the border. The route follows the Nation’s Highway via Kukes and the Morina–Vermica border crossing; Prizren is about 20 minutes past the border. The main cities of Kosovo
The other cities of Kosovo are easy to reach from Prizren. Times are approximate:
- Rahovec, about 30 minutes: the vineyards and wineries.
- Gjakova, about 40 minutes: the Grand Bazaar, the city’s old market.

- Peja, about 1.5 hours: the Rugova Gorge and the Patriarchate of Peja.
- Brezovica, about 1 hour 15 minutes: the ski resort in the Sharr Mountains, via Prevalla.
The nearest airports
Prizren has two international airports at similar distances: Tirana Airport, about 2 hours and 30 minutes away, and Pristina’s “Adem Jashari” International Airport, about 1 hour away. We’ll pick you up at either one and, if you like, you can arrive at one and depart from the other.

- The Stone Bridge: the Ottoman bridge over the Lumbardhi, the symbol of the city.
- Prizren Fortress: above the city, with the most beautiful view of Prizren, especially at sunset.
- The Sinan Pasha Mosque: the domed 17th-century mosque in the city center.
- The League of Prizren complex: the place where the Albanian League of Prizren met in 1878.
- Shadervan: the old square with a fountain in the middle, full of cafés.
- Dokufest: the documentary film festival held every summer in August.

Albanian citizens can enter Kosovo with an ID card or a passport. Citizens of other countries need a valid passport or ID card, according to the rules for their nationality.
How long is the wait at the Morina–Vermica border?
The wait varies with the season; in summer and during holidays, when the diaspora travels, it can be longer. The travel times on this page don’t include waiting at the border.
Can we visit Prizren as a day trip from Tirana?
Yes. With about 2 hours and 30 minutes of driving each way, Prizren makes a good day trip, with enough time for the fortress, the Stone Bridge and lunch in the center.
